The Spartan Precision Rifle Bipod Is Built For Hunters By Hunters.

Let’s face it, as hunters we love gadgets. It’s why our closets are always so cramped, and our garages look like a sporting version of the junkyard on Sanford and Son. We tinker, we modify, we hoard. Most of our purchases are a bit redundant but that has never stopped us. Such is not the case with the Javelin Bipod from Spartan Precision. This is one of those products you never knew you always needed until the first time you use it.

In the last fifteen years the factory rifle industry has undergone an accuracy revolution, narrowing the gap between the performance of production-line rifles and the supremely accurate custom hunting rifles that once dominated the dreams of hunters chasing true precision. But with all the advancements in rifle making, a hunter needs to become more stable to really harness these newfound accuracy capabilities.

Enter, the Spartan Javelin Bipod.

The Javelin is an ultralight carbon fiber bipod that can mount to any rifle. Place an adapter on your hunting rifle’s stock and the bipod locks into place via a super strong magnet. The beauty of this magnet feature is that the bipod can be popped off and stored in your pocket when you sling the rifle for a walk. Because you don’t always need a bipod the Javelin is there when you need it but stowed away when you don’t. With a weight of only 5 oz., you’ll forget you even have the Javelin with you…until you need it.

On a recent hunt in the mountains of South Africa I stored the Javelin in the loops on the side of my chest-mounted Badlands binocular harness. Every bit of extra weight is pronounced on a 10-mile hike and ounces start to feel like pounds. The Javelin was my only piece of gear designed by an avid mountain climber…and it showed. It was so light I didn’t even consider leaving it behind, and it really came in handy when I was able to quickly deploy it to take a kudu at 629 yards, a Cape eland at 422 yards and a zebra at 270 yards. If these ranges sound extreme, trust me, they aren’t. With an accurate rifle, premium ammunition, and the stability of the Javelin, all three animals went down with one shot to the vitals. In fact, none of them made it more than 20 yards.

On the range the Javelin has been a constant for me this year. I’ve taken shots out to 880 yards with zero shift in my point of impact. And if you’ve read any of my rifle reviews this year, you’ll notice only two reoccurring themes in the photos of each rifle…I always use Talley Rings and the Javelin. I can’t stop using this bipod and you’ll see it again soon when I hunt an East Central Texas whitetail, Panhandle aoudad and South African nyala bull. If there’s one rifle accessory I’d recommend to every hunter, it’s the Javelin Bipod.
