Tim Hall, the seventh generation of his family to live along the Kentucky River from the days of Daniel Boone, has always been close to nature. Hunting and fishing have been life long pursuits as well as trying to capture the beauty he sees in the outdoors. Tim has been a full time wildlife artist for 38 years and specializes in wood carving and oil paintings.
Tim does a wide variety of subjects: all the waterfowl and game birds, raptors and song birds, as well as fish. He has even done wild flowers completely in wood. Bobwhite quail and woodcock are favorites, and he accepts commissions on just about anything. He once carved a Platypus!
Tim’s more expensive works are birds in flight. He has crafted quail that are suspended in mid air with just a feather touching another bird for support. Metal is incorporated to look like a feather at the contact point but it is engraved and painted to match the wood so it blends in perfectly.
Tim continues to explore new subjects and has completed over two thousand pieces to date. Each carving is signed and numbered and bears the inscription : Made by Tim Hall with God’s Help. For more info call 606-723-5450 or visit timhallwoodcarvings.com email timhallwoodcarvings@gmail.com
