Two-year-old Kellen Findley of Dozier, Ala., is battling a rare form of connective-tissue cancer. Kellen has embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of the striated muscles, that requires him to undergo 42 different treatments — more than the number of months he has been alive.

Thankfully, his family will have help raising the money for this lengthy process. Henry Repeating Arms has created 42 custom Golden Boy .22s to donate as fundraising materials, with the hope of paying for much, if not all, of Kellen’s medical bills. Each will have a unique “Fight Like A Kid” laser engraving on the stock, along with a special serial number of KELLEN01 through KELLEN42.

When Kellen’s uncle, Jay Findley, learned his nephew’s softball-size tumor was cancerous and could not be removed at that time because it was so large, he was devastated. Removing it then might deform Kellen’s young body. Jay wanted to do something to help Kellen, his parents, and the whole family.

He and his wife decided to hold a benefit auction to raise money for the many costs associated with the 42 treatments Kellen will need to fight this cancer. A fan of Henry rifles, Jay reached out to Henry President Anthony Imperato for help, and the idea for the custom rifles was born.

The first gun, KELLEN01, is available through GunBroker.com now. Bidding began Sunday at $420 with a buy-now price of $4,200.

KELLEN01 is available for bidding now. Give freely to help a young boy fight cancer.

Along with the rifle, the buyer will receive a certificate of authenticity and a letter of thanks from Imperato himself.

“We have been continually amazed by the generosity and devotion to helping others that has been shown by America’s gun owners, particularly the more than 3 million dedicated GunBroker.com users,” Imperato said. “When I suggested the $4,200 “Buy Now” price, a few folks thought I was overly optimistic. You just watch, I told them.”

Bidding ends Jan. 3, 2016.

In addition to KELLEN01, two additional rifles will be raffled by Top Gun Arms in Ethridge, Tenn. The rest will be auctioned, raffled, or sold through Buds Gun Shop in Sevierville, Tenn.
