David Hagerbaumer and Dwight Schuh, The Bottoms. Clinton, J: Amwell Press, 1987. 126 pages. Hardbound (large format) in leather with fold-over slipcase with silk lining. Copy #17 of 250 signed by the authors and publisher. This one also features a warm inscription from Hagerbaumer, who did the artwork for the book, to Worth Mathewson with a pencil sketch of a decoy on the title page. All edges gilt, silk endpapers, ribbon marker. Book is very fine and slipcase near fine (the white linen shows hints of dirt and is also slightly wrinkled in back bottom corner. A real treasure. $300.

Another copy, but this on #1 of a special edition of 35. Hardbound (large format), slipcase, all edges gilt, and with an original drawing by David Hagerbaumer, who illustrated the book, on the front inside. It shows a dove in flight across a harvested grain field and is signed and inscribed by the artist: “For you, Worth, with my highest regards, as a friend and fellow outdoorsman. Dave 3/2/2001.” A truly special “one of a kind” item. The book and slipcase are in fine condition. $700.
