As Tulsa World reports, an Oklahoma angler named Paul Glover brought to hand what is expected to be the new state-record rainbow trout. Glover, a self-taught fly angler, wrangled in the prize on the Lower Illinois River earlier this month. The fish weighed 11 pounds, 4.42 ounces and measured 29.18 inches long; while state game wardens have yet to officially confirm the record, it’s sure to surpass the previous set in 2013 of 10 pounds, 10 ounces.

Glover told the press, “I just got lucky today. Normally I would have been bass fishing.”
