Warm days, lots of wading rivers to fly fish and being outdoors are soon to come.

While winter seems to be dragging on and on, and the temperature was a single-digit number outside my house — known as The Cameron House to many — the other morning, but I smell summer on the horizon. That means warm days, lots of wading rivers to fly fish, and being outdoors.

One place I frequently land when outdoors is onto my cushy chair. Hey, I don’t like being on the ground because that is where biting bugs lurk. So, when I do venture outside on summer days, I often give Mike the stare until he finds my cushy chair and pops it open. This first-class chair must go on all fishing and camping trips during the summer — period.

The great news is that the chair has room for one — ME! — and Mike and his friends know not to sit in my chair. Ok, there are so many dog hairs on it that most hoomans find it disgusting and uninviting anyway. Shedding and applying all those dog hairs is like marking the chair as mine, and it seems to be working. If someone approaches the chair with me reclining in it, I also spread out to be certain that person sees there is no room for any hoomans. I work a lot to be certain no hooman discovers how cushy the chair is, har har!

Well, I’m heading for the front yard and will be looking for summer. It’s out there over the horizon somewhere. The awesome news is my chair is ready! —Cameron
