The series, in its second season, averages nearly one million monthly viewers on the Outdoor Channel alone, while also spreading to other networks.
Officials from Dorsey Pictures, the world’s largest producer of outdoor adventure programming with series airing on ten national networks and with affiliates across the globe on scores of linear and digital platforms announced distribution deals that make Sporting Classics TV with Chris Dorsey the most watched outdoor program in the world. The series, in its second season, has seen weekly audience growth of more than 30 percent year over year on Outdoor Channel and averages nearly one million monthly viewers on that network alone. The series airs five times weekly on Outdoor Channel in the third and fourth quarters before moving to nationwide syndication on 113 broadcast stations and regional sports networks reaching 60 million homes coast to coast.
In addition to television distribution, Sporting Classics with Chris Dorsey is widely distributed through numerous streaming and on-demand channels including Samsung TV Plus, Vizio Smart Cast, Xumo, STIRR, Distro TV, Glewed TV, Select TV, Zingo TV and soon will launch on Crackle. In total, the series reaches more than an additional 100 million connected households.
Internationally, the series is one of Wild TV’s highest rated programs, seen by nearly 350,000 viewers monthly throughout Canada in addition to millions more across the European continent through affiliates of Dorsey Pictures’ Parent Company, German-owned Red Arrow Studios.
“Sporting Classics is the ultimate outdoor adventure brand and we’re delighted to be associated with this award-winning magazine that showcases the best of the sporting life,” says host and executive producer Chris Dorsey. “We’ve stayed focused on TV and streaming audiences because they align best with the demos of people who buy and use outdoor products. More than three quarters of the wealth in America is controlled by people over the age of 50, so when it comes to media that can influence consumer spending–especially for premium outdoor products–no electronic medium delivers like television…and it’s not even close.”
Sporting Classics with Chris Dorsey showcases the best big game, wingshooting and fishing adventures found across North America and beyond with an award winning team of cinematographers, producers, editors and writers. In addition, Dorsey Pictures’ 150,000-hour high definition library is the largest of its kind in the world and provides unprecedented resources to make each program content rich.
