Sporting Classics and Sporting Classics Daily are in Charleston, S.C., this weekend for the annual Southeastern Wildlife Exposition. Many of the magazine’s staff members are here, letting readers put faces with each of the publications. We have copies of the magazine and several of our books available, along with free give-away items. Jim Carmichel and John Seerey-Lester are here to sign copies of their new books, and, on top of it all, visitors to the booths will receive a special show price on subscriptions to the magazine!
SEWE is the largest expo of its kind in the nation. The annual gathering brings together artists, exhibitors, carvers, collectors — virtually any and everyone involved in wildlife-related fields.
The event spreads out across five locations in Downtown Charleston: Brittlebank Park, Charleston Place, Marion Square, the Marriott Hotel, and the Gaillard Center. Outside venues are hosting demos on fly fishing and other activities, while indoor areas are featuring lectures from QDMA, decoy auctions, and the like.
Sporting Classics is manning two booths this weekend: one in Charleston Place and another at Brittlebank Park. The booth at Charleston Place is located near Jackson Hole Art Auction, Griffin & Howe, and other indoor exhibits, while the Brittlebank Park booth is alongside the DOCKDOG retriever demonstrations. Shuttles are running between the two areas regularly and frequently, allowing visitors to see both booths during their time at SEWE.
Visitors to the booth at Charleston Place have an added incentive for stopping by: Jim Carmichel and John Seerey-Lester are here signing copies of their new books and meeting their fans. The two are available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during normal show hours.
Carmichel’s Classic Carmichel brings together his hunting adventures from 40 years as the shooting editor of Outdoor Life, along with more than 100 never-before-published photographs. Seerey-Lester’s The Legendary Hunts of Theodore Roosevelt illustrates in paint and prose the worldwide hunts of the 26th President of the United States. Both are available for purchase through the Sporting Classics store, as well as in person.
We also have books by Mike Gaddis, Mike Altizer, Dwight Van Brunt, Jim Casada, and more.
Stop by the booths if you’re in town, and be sure to check back for more of our Daily coverage from SEWE!
