Photographer Jason Whittle captured images of a lifetime recently while diving off the coast of southern Australia. According to Daily Mail, Whittle was off the Neptune Islands near Adelaide when he photographed a 16-foot female great white shark trying to feed on a school of baitfish. When a younger great white tried to stick its nose into the action, the female turned her bite on it.
The encounter was brief but violent. The female snatched the younger shark in its teeth and forced it out of her personal space, leaving deep but non-life-threatening wounds on its head. The younger left the area while the female returned to her meal.
