Gordy & Sons Outfitters is quickly becoming a favorite destination for avid hunters and anglers looking for the best in bespoke and fine guns, fly fishing equipment, and everything else needed for adventuring around the world—or in the comfort of your ranch or favorite fishing spot.

For Garrett, Shaun, and Russell Gordy, local Houstonians, the store has been a longstanding idea for several years. The Gordy family opened its doors on May 13, 2017, at 22 Waugh Drive, serving the Houston community of hunters and anglers, as well as those outside of Houston, who are looking for something unique to add to their collection.

“It’s not about one specific item,” said Garrett Gordy. “It’s about how everything comes together and works together in the field. It’s a craft in and of itself to curate for various experiences, whether that’s an adventure to Alaska or to the most remote island in the Bahamas chasing bonefish. Places where you don’t find things like reception. Or forgiveness.”

Gordy & Sons features a library of bespoke guns that can be viewed by appointment inside a vast, walk-in safe in the center of the grand showroom. This space offers a rare experience, displaying the best in British Steel. The inventory includes offerings from the likes of Rigby and Purdy, some of which are three years in the making.

You’ll also find guns from Blaser, Kreighoff, Browning, Beretta, and more in the shop, alongside all the gear needed for your next hunt.

“Seeing past all the marketing hype is important to the avid adventurer. And to us,” Garrett said. “We work hard to find and stock the gear and equipment we think our customers will need to be prepared for whatever they have planned.”

The Gordys’ passion and expertise is evident in all aspects of the shop. Avid anglers will find top gear and services, all put together for their individual needs. In addition to complete kits customized for specific destinations, Gordy & Sons has an expansive casting pond on-site for customers to test drive products and ensure they’re making a purchase that will suit their needs on the water.

“It’s better to see a problem before you’re out there, no matter how far out there is,” Garrett said.
