Idaho residents can enter into some fantastic youth-only hunt opportunities this fall
Applications for controlled deer, elk, pronghorn, fall bear, and fall turkey hunts open May 1 and run through June 5. A controlled hunt has a limited number of tags, which are obtained in a random drawing. Success rates are generally higher in controlled hunts than in general season hunts.
To apply for a controlled hunt, residents and nonresidents must have a valid Idaho hunting license and complete the application worksheet. Be sure to check the controlled hunt sections of the rule booklets for complete information including requirements, eligibility, restrictions, 2nd drawings, leftover tags, refunds, etc.
