Sporting Classics with Chris Dorsey travels to Texas this week in “Stalking the Blue Bull.”

Dorsey Pictures announces that this week’s episode of Sporting Classics with Chris Dorsey, the most watched outdoor TV program in the world, heads to south Texas to chase free range nilgai at a private ranch. Chris Dorsey is joined by friend and Brays Island neighbor Steve Hicks as they each look to harvest a mature bull in this exciting episode.

In 1929, nilgai became the first exotic game species introduced into Texas when 12 of the antelope were brought in from India and released on a private ranch.  Today there are up to 38,000 nilgai found across Texas and Mexico.  Nilgai are prized game animals that offer a challenge spot-and-stalk for all levels of hunters and require a near-perfect shot to bring down.

“Free range nilgai in South Texas present a challenging hunting experience that comes with a tasty reward–they’re among the world’s best tasting game animals” said Dorsey.  “With covid putting a squeeze on international travel, the blue bull was the perfect antidote.”

Series host Chris Dorsey is among the world’s most widely traveled sportsmen having hunted and fished on five continents and he’s served in board leadership and advisory roles of numerous conservation and sporting advocacy organizations. He’s a member of the Outdoor Legends Hall of Fame and is a recipient of the Ray Scott Trailblazer Award as well as the Curt Gowdy Memorial Award. He’s a biologist, author of 12 books on outdoor subjects, is a past editor-in-chief of Sports Afield and Ducks Unlimited magazines and his work has appeared in most of the outdoor magazines in the English-speaking world as well as National Geographic, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and the Robb Report.
