This is a hedonistic animal that likes nothing more than to roll belly up and scratch its back like a 1,200-pound Labrador retriever. It is very disconcerting to dismount your horse briefly and then return to find him scratching his back with both pieces of your rifle! Always tie this animal securely and remove your rifle, even if you will only be dismounted for a short while. You never know when this horse will elect to do a little back scratching and your new bolt-action rifle may be just the ticket for those hard to reach places.
