When it comes to American firearms manufacturers, Henry Repeating Arms may offer the most extensive and eye-catching firearms line of any manufacturer. This is great news for many hunters, shooters, collectors and first-time buyers because they can easily find something to fit their hands, their interests, their needs — and their budgets. The more important news about Henry Repeating Arms is that the company’s many lever-action, single-shot and survival firearms are wholly made in the U.S.A. The company celebrates its 25th Anniversary in March 2022 and recently announced a production expansion in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, to accommodate growing demand.

Stand Out Firearms

Among the Henry Repeating Arms catalog are several stand-out firearms that are popular with hunters, including the lever-action X Model and All-Weather rifles chambered in 45-70 Govt., 44 Rem. Mag., 45 Colt and other calibers. These rifles are popular in states that have hunting laws permitting the use of straight-walled ammunition while pursuing deer.

“Those are hunting rifles through and through,” says Dan Clayton-Luce, Henry’s Communication Director. “That’s what we build them for.” The company offers many other firearms that are of interest to big game hunters such as the Long Ranger and the Single Shot Slug Barrel 12 gauge shotgun

“That slug gun is great for the deer hunting shotgun-only states, such as New Jersey,” continued Dan. “For other big game hunters, a stand-out in our product line is the Long Ranger chambered in 308 Win. or 6.5 Creedmoor. Those rifles broaden the company’s selection for big game hunters and work well for the many elk and deer hunters.” This unique rifle is also available in 223 Rem. or 243 Win. Unlike ordinary lever-action rifles, Long Ranger rifles utilize a flush-fit detachable floorplate-style magazine to accommodate cartridges with a pointed spitzer bullet profile that would not work in a traditional tube magazine.

Other noted features on the Long Ranger rifle include a free-floated barrel, two-piece American walnut checkered stock, sling swivels and a rubber recoil pad. These rifles use a 20-inch barrel (22-inch for the 6.5 Creedmoor model) and have a machined and chromed bolt tipped with a six-lug rotary head for consistent action and locking for shooting. The rifle tips the scales at approximately seven pounds and is available with or without steel sights affixed.

No mention of Henry Repeating Arms firearms would be complete without noting its many youth model rifles and shotguns, the U.S. Survival AR-7 where components can be disassembled and stored in the stock and its extensive line of tribute edition rifles to recognize and honor constituencies including military, law enforcement, firefighters, American farmers, truckers and other working groups.

While the company manufactures an extensive line of lever-action rifles, another unique firearm from the Henry factory is the pump-action 22 caliber with a blued octagonal barrel and action. The rifle has a grooved receiver so it’s riflescope-ready and is also available in a 22 Magnum model. Plinkers take note!

Backed by a Solid Guarantee

While many manufacturers today completely ignore or give only lip-service to guaranteeing their product, not so with Henry.  The company guarantee: “If somebody chooses to spend money on a Henry, we stop at nothing to be certain they are satisfied with their purchase. All Henry firearms are backed with a lifetime warranty.”

To make owning a Henry rifle easier, the company offers a high level of professional customer service. Employees at all levels in the company are willing and able to do whatever they need to make things right with customers. This first-class customer service angle started because the company founder, Anthony Imperato, has a long history of working with customers in a previous role working behind the counter in a gun store. This level of customer service is difficult to discover today in America—period.

Continued Growth

The Rice Lake, Wisconsin-based firearms manufacturer also has a production facility in Bayonne, New Jersey. Recently Henry Repeating Arms announced that business and demand are so brisk that it is opening a new manufacturing facility in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. This expansion will provide an additional 84,000 square feet of manufacturing space and create more than 100 jobs in the next three years. “Staking our flag at a new facility is the beginning of another exciting chapter in our company’s history, and we are wasting no time prepping the building for our machines,” said Andy Wickstrom, President of Henry Repeating Arms.

When completed, this new expansion will bring Henry Repeating Arms’ manufacturing space to more than 350,000 square feet and the employee roster to more than 600. Those are impressive numbers by any standard.

Offering more than 200 firearm models and providing top-tier customer service continues the Henry legacy. The company mantra also sums up its product stance: “Made in America, Or Not Made at All.”
