I believe I have written numerous time here on Sporting Classics Daily that I like fishing and going on fishing adventures. I’m not lazy but I truly enjoy being in drift boats and rafts that are launched on the river for a fishing trip and floating adventure. While in the vessel, I can ride the rapids and see folks and wildlife along the river. The best thing is that all humans along the river can see me, and I can look down on them. My passing while they stare make me feel like I’m part of the Lewis and Clark discovery trip or royalty on a yacht. I also enjoy being on a boat when someone is rowing. Now if I only had my own flyrod, har-har!
OK, trips down the river on a drift boat are not always carefree leisure adventures. On one of my first float trips I go my nose sunburned. The sun was bearing down and I had no where to hide, and Mike did not apply sunscreen on me, so I got burnt. It was painful by day’s end and a few days later my nose was peeling skin. Maybe I should contact a lawyer about this kind of obvious dog abuse — or get a very big floppy hat to cover my ears and nose. Some dark sunglasses like the ones Kevin Costner always wears would also be helpful, LOL.
OK, the next time I’m on a float trip, if I get hot or feel the sun starting to burn, I’ll jump in and cool off. When Mike is panicking about “dog overboard,” I’ll grab his floppy hat when he leans over the boat’s edge to rescue me.
As a dog I know once I get something in my mouth, it’s mine. Hope Mike brings a spare hat.
