In recent times, many of us have been daydreaming of our next big hunting or fishing trip while stuck inside.
Glen Dene Hunting & Fishing New Zealand is bringing the outdoors in by sharing exciting stories of adventurers and their outdoor experiences, putting our daydreams into words on the page. Now is the perfect time to get inspired and start planning your next adventure.
Honeymooners Cohlman and Katie visited Glen Dene and fell in love with the gorgeous views and a one-in-a-lifetime hunting trip.
“We loved hosting Cohlman and Katie from Minnesota,” said Glen Dene. “They traveled this year through New Zealand for their honeymoon. Their last destination before they returned home was Glen Dene for an amazing red stag Hunt. Katie enjoyed the hike and did a wonderful job as a photo- and videographer.”
After 2 days hiking, spotting, stalking and watching the wonderful New Zealand wildlife in breathtaking environment, the adventurers struck hunting gold! Glen Dene’s new friends were rewarded with a Gold Premium red stag.
When you hunt at Glen Dene you get to know the land, the animal and its habitat with premium access to our vast privately-owned high country property. Katie and Cohlman enjoyed fresh air, sunshine and the typical long white clouds of New Zealand.
The terrain is easy in places, tough in others and there is steep demanding terrain for the hard core mountain hunter. All our hunts are tailored to physical fitness and wow, these 2 were super fit!
They scored a trophy arapawa ram – what a great addition to a hunt. arapawa rams are unique to New Zealand, ram horns exceed a full curl and can curl twice.
A highlight at Glen Dene is when everyone comes together at the lake front for some drinks, delicious game food and handcrafted pizza made in the wood-fired pizza oven. We all miss these special moments and can’t wait for these days to come back!
“This was truly such a special trip for us and a Honeymoon (Huntermoon),” Cohlman said. “We will always remember this! I have been telling all my hunting buddies about it and we’re trying to plan how we can make it out there to see you again.”
