Now is your chance to own a Bob Timberlake sketch and support the educational and research efforts of the Boykin Spaniel Society.
Lilly was Bob Timberlake’s first Boykin spaniel, which quickly became a family member and his favorite hunting dog. Unfortunately, she only lived to age seven due to an aggressive form of cancer.
To carry on Lilly’s memory, Bob created this pencil sketch as a Christmas gift for his son right after her passing in 2009. Another Boykin soon arrived, a female they named “George.” Because of their love of the breed, the Timberlakes have developed a close relationship with the Boykin Spaniel Society to raise money for BSS’s educational and research efforts.
This unique print of Bob’s original sketch was created by using a modern dye-sublimation process of the original Lilly sketch, which has been transferred to an aluminum frame. Individually signed and numbered, each 16 x 16-inch metal print is shipped ready to hang in your home, business or gallery. Order your metal print today and show homage to the Palmetto State’s famous little brown sporting dog.
A portion of all proceeds will be donated to Boykin Spaniel Society’s educational and research efforts.

Since the origin of the breed in the early twentieth-century, the Boykin spaniel has proven to be a crackerjack retriever, remarkable trick artist, and a family favorite. This revised edition of The Boykin Spaniel: South Carolina’s Dog by breed enthusiasts Mike Creel and Lynn Kelley is written for all lovers of the Palmetto State’s famous little brown sporting dog and chronicles the breed’s history, profiles the dog’s distinctive personality, describes its sterling abilities, and records the fond memories of a distinguished cast of trainers and owners.
A gregarious creature with an uncanny ability to switch freely from playful family pet to disciplined hunting dog, the Boykin spaniel was named the state dog of South Carolina in 1985. By 2000 more than sixteen thousand Boykins from forty-nine states and numerous foreign countries had been registered with the Boykin Spaniel Society, based in Camden, South Carolina. Creel and Kelley offer an unparalleled resource for breed owners and devotees as well as a celebration of this home-grown hunter and companion, truly a dog for all seasons. Their heavily illustrated revised and updated edition also includes the breed standard, lists of award-winning dogs and owners, and a comprehensive bibliography of the breed. Shop Now
