This year, 2019, is the first time since 1979 that NW Alaska Grizzly hunting does not require a drawing permit. The bear population has risen to the point that instead of one bear every 4 years, all hunters are allowed to harvest one bear every year. Local residents of Game Management Unit 23 are allowed to take two Grizzlies every year.

Since 1984 our guest hunters have received 63 awards for first, second or third place trophies in the annual Alaska Professional Hunters Association/Safari Club International Big Three competition. This is the highest number of awards per number of guests of all guiding outfits in Alaska. We’ve taken top 3 Grizzly, Black Bear, Dall Ram,Caribou, Moose, Wolf & Sitka Blacktail Deer. 30 of these outstanding animals were caribou. The lodge is located in an ideal hunting area.
In addition to Grizzly bears, one can hunt Barren Ground Caribou, Wolf and Wolverine on the same booking.
