Sporting Classics Daily has been working for a few months to correct an issue with AOL users not receiving their daily newsletter. Hours have been spent discussing the problem with MailChimp, our newsletter facilitator, and AOL to troubleshoot the situation, but to no avail.
As we are not able to correct the issue on our end, we have come up with a few helpful suggestions in order for readers to return to business as usual.
Simple Solutions
I’ve talked to several AOL users about this issue at trade shows, on the phone, and via email. While many tell me they were one of the first recipients of an AOL email address and are hesitant to create a new one, that is the simplest solution for getting the newsletter again. To my knowledge, users of Gmail, Yahoo, and other email providers have not experienced these problems.
If that’s not an option for you, we strongly suggest you save the Daily as an icon on your phone and access the site directly each morning.
We have provided instructions for iPhone/iPad users below; Android’s system is very similar.
Saving the site as a bookmark on your desktop is also an option. Click “Bookmarks” on the top tool bar on your home screen, select “Bookmark This Page,” and enjoy.
These steps are also helpful for anyone, of any email provider, so they can revisit SCD with the press of a single button.
