For waterfowlers like me who are unable to access big water for duck hunting, it comes down to a canoe or kayak and a stretch of river. It’s mostly a wood duck game, but such is life. Up until now, I’ve always had to brush the front of my kayak with overhanging branches to conceal the paddles. It helps, but it’s certainly not an ideal situation.
That all may change with this new camo-clad kayak from Hobie. Gone are the striking oranges, yellows, and reds, replaced with an earth-tone paint scheme to offer better concealment from above, below, and all around. Couple that with the MirageDrive system for the bulk of my “paddling,” and it looks like more ducks will be falling come winter.
Or you can always, you know, fish with it.
