This footage, shot somewhere off the coast of Venice, Louisiana, shows a tuna fisherman hooking into a seven- to eight-foot hammerhead shark. He began reeling it in, but after five minutes they noticed that something wasn’t adding up. Even an eight-footer shouldn’t be that hard to reel in.

A quick look underwater with their GoPro camera revealed the truth: A tiger shark, estimated at more than 1,000 pounds, was tearing into the hammerhead’s body, taking advantage of the smaller predator’s situation to attack. The tiger shark eventually swam away, but not without leaving a big impression on the anglers above . . . and the hammerhead below.
