Wille Lindh is fishing the Norrtäljeån River in downtown Norrtälje, a town along Sweden’s northern coast. The river connects a large lake to the Baltic Sea, so brown trout are frequently hooked along its length as they make their runs.
If you take nothing else away from this film, notice how Lindh is able to talk to the kids along the bridge as he casts. The youngsters are clearly unfamiliar with fly fishing and wading, and he gets to educate them and potentially bring new anglers into the fold. You don’t get that kind of opportunity when fishing all alone in some remote landscape!
